China's Guizhou to Train 37,000 Senior Care Professionals
GUIYANG, Jan. 24 (Xinhua) — Southwest China's Guizhou Province plans to train 37,000 senior care-related professionals in the next five years to increase the quality of services in this growing sector, said the provincial civil affairs department.
The professionals include nurses, doctors, senior care-related government clerks and executives in the industry. To implement the plan, Guizhou will also formulate policies and moves to attract talent, develop the database of senior care professionals and set up training centers.
By the end of 2018, the population aged 60 and above in Guizhou reached 5.79 million, or 16 percent of the province's total. The province has set up 5,044 rural seniors' homes and about 1,600 community daily care centers or home-based elderly care service stations in urban areas.
