China Names Roster for Women's Basketball Olympic Qualifier

Shao Ting led China's 12-player squad for the women's basketball Olympic qualifying tournament which was moved from Foshan to Belgrade amid concerns over the spread of novel coronavirus in China.
BEIJING, February 5 (Xinhua) — China's national women's basketball team has announced a 12-player squad for its upcoming Olympic qualifying tournament in Belgrade, Serbia.

The squad comprises Yang Liwei, Li Yuan, Wang Siyu, Wu Tongtong, Shao Ting, Li Meng, Huang Sijing, Gao Song, Sun Mengran, Li Yueru, Han Xu and Zhang Ru.
The tournament was originally scheduled to be held in the Chinese city of Foshan, but it was relocated to Belgrade instead amid concerns over the spread of novel coronavirus in China.

China will begin its quest for an Olympic berth against Britain on Thursday, before taking on Spain on Saturday and the Republic of Korea on Sunday.
The top three finishers in the group will qualify for the Tokyo Olympic Games this summer.
